Ri Hung-ryong (born September 22, 1988 ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

Ri appears internationally as a player at Kim Il-sung University .

In 2005 the striker took part in the U-17 World Cup in Peru with the North Korean U-17 team and only failed with the team in the quarter-finals after extra time against Brazil. In the technical report of the tournament, Ri and his strike partner Pak Chol-min are listed as outstanding players on their team and are described as " storm peaks of the same type, very fast, agile and agile, a danger for every opponent due to permanent position changes ". When he won the U-19 Asian Cup in 2006 , Ri was part of the squad and came as a substitute to five missions in the course of the tournament in which he scored a goal. Even at the 2007 U-20 World Cup in Canada , Ri was not part of the regular staff and came to three short appearances in the preliminary round, team captain Kim Kum-il and Jong Chol-min occupied the forward positions on the starting line-up.

In October 2007, the young striker was used for the North Korean national team in a 5-1 success in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup against Mongolia . With the Olympic selection (U-23), he missed participation in the 2008 Olympic Games in the final qualifying round against Australia, Iraq and Lebanon .
