Rice Ridge is a 1.5 km long and low mountain ridge with rocky protrusions in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Jones Mountains, it rises on the north side of the Anderson Dome .
A team from the University of Minnesota mapped it while exploring the Jones Mountains from 1960 to 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1963 after Lieutenant Commander Robert A. Rice of the United States Navy , supply and fiscal officer of a mobile construction battalion ( Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One ) of the Seabees during Operation Deep Freeze of 1962.
