Rich Corpolongo

Richard "Rich" Corpolongo (born September 20, 1941 ) is an American jazz musician (saxophone, clarinet, flutes, also electronics, arrangement ) who works in the genres of post-bop and avant-garde jazz .

Live and act

Corpolongo attended St. Mel High School and studied at DePaul University and Roosevelt University , where he earned his bachelor's and master's degree in composition. He began his career in Chicago in the 1960s; first recordings were made in 1969 when he was a member of Kent Schneider's big band ( Celebration for Modern Man ). In the following decade he played a. a. with Eddie Harris , Herbie Hancock , Gary Burton , Oliver Nelson and in the Les Hooper Big Band. In 1980 he recorded his debut album Spontaneous Composition , on which Doug Lofstrom and Paul Wertico participated. In the following years he worked in the jazz scene in Chicago a. a. with Marshall Vente , Guy Fricano, Barrett Deems , Doug Blake , John Moulder, and Eldee Young . In the field of jazz he was involved in 18 recording sessions between 1969 and 2009.
