Richard Aßmann (actor)
Richard Heinrich Theodor Louis Assmann , also Assmann (born November 25, 1877 in Schwerin , † December 3, 1955 in Cologne ) was a German actor .
Career
Assmann was born in Schwerin as the son of a grand ducal ministerial official. He began his stage career in Rostock in 1897 and then came to Düsseldorf . In 1900 he received an engagement at the Royal Court Theater in Wiesbaden, where he played the youthful hero and lover on stage. His passion in declamation roles qualified him particularly as an actor in the works of Schiller . From 1903 to 1953 he was engaged at the Cologne theater . He was made an honorary member of the municipal theaters .
Aßmann died at the age of 78 as a result of a stroke in a Cologne hospital. He was widowed by Emma Auguste Maria Goetz, whom he married in Wiesbaden in 1902.
