Richard Beyer
Richard Beyer (* 1958 ) is a German music theorist , musicologist and university professor .
biography
Richard Beyer studied the subjects music education , diploma church music and master music theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt and Latin philology and musicology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt . His subsequent doctorate in musicology took place in 1992 at the University of Frankfurt . After completing his studies, he taught at the Frankfurt University of Music , at the University of Frankfurt and at the Mainz University of Music in the subjects of music theory / composition , ear training , musicology and music didactics . This was followed by an appointment to a professorship for music theory at the University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg . There he teaches music theory / composition, ear training, instrumentation, as well as form theory and work analysis.
In addition to his teaching activities, he published publications on various musicological and music theory subjects, including a. on sentence theory and practical piano music theory. In addition, he composes works for various ensembles, including a. for choir and organ.
