Richard Bunge

Paul Richard Otto Bunge (born June 15, 1870 in Zeitz ; † August 8, 1938 in Bonn ) was a German surgeon and university professor who worked at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stift in Bonn.

Life

He was the son of the factory director Julius Bunge and his wife Julie nee Haeuber and was born in the Prussian district town of Zeitz. After visiting the pen School in Zeitz 1879-1888 Richard Bunge studied medicine at the University of Halle, on August 1, 1892 where he became Dr. med. PhD. After his time as an assistant at the Eberth Institute in Halle (Saale) and from 1895 to 1896 at the City Hospital in Stettin , Richard Bunge became assistant and later senior physician at the surgical clinic of the University of Königsberg , where he worked until 1906. During this time he completed his habilitation in 1900 and became a private lecturer in surgery. In 1905 he was appointed titular professor. In the following year Richard Bunde was appointed head of the surgical department at the Fridrich-Wilhelm-Stift in Bonn. Since 1907 he worked there as a conducting surgeon. In 1921 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Bonn . In addition to surgery, Richard Bunge also specialized in urology and published, among other things, on amputation options.

In the Weimar Republic he joined the DNVP and belonged to the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten .

He lived in Bonn, Reuterstraße 96.

family

In 1902 he married Irmgard nee Simon (* 1881). The daughter Marion (* 1909) emerged from the marriage and later became a district judge. They also had four other children.
