The Puerto Eten District , alternative name: Eten Puerto District , is located in the Chiclayo province in the Lambayeque region in northwest Peru . The district was founded on December 19, 1906. It extends over an area of 13.2 km². The 2017 census counted 2358 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2472, in 2007 it was 2238. The district is congruent with the 33 m high coastal town of Puerto Eten . Puerto Eten is about 17 km south-southwest of the regional and provincial capital Chiclayo .
Geographical location
The Puerto Eten district is located on the Pacific coast south of the mouth of the Río Moche in the west of the Chiclayo province. The district has an approximately 10 km long coastline and extends just under 2 kilometers inland. The southeast of the district consists of desert.
The district of Puerto Eten is enclosed by the district of Eten in the north, northeast and east.
