Richard Fritz

Richard Fritz (born May 20, 1949 ) is a German table tennis player . He played in the Bundesliga in the 1970s and 1980s and came second in the 1975 German Championship.

Career

Richard Fritz began his career with the SC Buschhausen club in 1912. Later he joined the Bundesliga club Meidericher TTC , with whose men's team he was German runner-up five times in a row from 1971 to 1975. In 1975 he was second behind Wilfried Lieck at the National German Championships in Hanover .

In 1976, the Meidericher TTC separated prematurely from Richard Fritz because of his repeated unsporting and club-damaging behavior. In addition, the West German table tennis association WTTV banned Richard Fritz because of a "scandal" during the German championships in Essen at the beginning of 1976 until the end of the 1976/77 season. Richard Fritz bridged this suspension by playing at the Dutch first division club Apeldoornse table tennis association HIA PANELS . During this time he won the Dutch ranking tournament.

In 1977 Richard Fritz returned to the German Bundesliga. He joined TTC Jülich , played for SSV Reutlingen in the early 1980s and helped Spvg Steinhagen in 1984 and Post SV Mülheim in 1987 to move up to the 1st Bundesliga.

In 1988 he became active again at his home club SC Buschhausen and was then on the road with several lower-class clubs (such as TTA Kevelaer-Wetten (regional league), 2006/07 SV Millingen (district class), 2007-2014 SC Buschhausen, 2014 PSV Oberhausen (regional league)) .

In addition, Richard Fritz played active tennis at TC Babock.
