Richard Hartwell

Richard Hartwell (born 1946 in March , Cambridgeshire , England ) is a British artist .

Live and act

Hartwell studied art in Cambridge , London ( Royal College of Art ) and Hamburg ( State University of Fine Arts ). In 1968 he received a fellowship from the King Edward VII Foundation . In 1974 he was awarded the 1st prize of the Mostra D`Art Multiple Barcelona . In 1978 he worked with Ingrid Webendoerfer on a mural project in New York. In 1979/80 he had a teaching position at the University of the Arts in Bremen . In 1987 he worked in Paris. In 1989 he received a scholarship for the Casa Baldiä in Olevano Romano , Italy, as well as a scholarship in the Schleswig-Holstein artist house Selk. Since 1968 he has had numerous solo, group and themed exhibitions. The main focus of his work is painting, drawing, object, photography, word and sound.

Hartwell lives and works in Zurich .
