Richard Hauser (musician)
Richard Hauser (born December 31, 1909 in Vienna ; † July 17, 1970 there ) was an Austrian pianist and music teacher .
life and work
Hauser studied from 1919 at the Vienna Music Academy with Josef Hofmann and Norbert Kahrer and from 1925/1926 with Paul Weingarten . He passed his diploma in piano in 1931. From 1925 to 1933 he studied at the school for music theory in Vienna with F. Schmidt. From 1925 he studied with Arnold Schönberg , Anton von Webern and Emil von Sauer .
From 1931 to 1935 Hauser worked as a private music teacher and concert pianist. From 1935 to 1938 he worked at the New Vienna Conservatory . From 1945 to 1947 he worked at the now renamed Vienna Conservatory . From 1947 to 1970 he worked at the Vienna Music Academy. In 1965 he became a full professor there .
Hauser has acted as a juror at international music competitions many times. His students included Heinz Medjimorec , Karen De Pastel , Mitsuko Uchida and Carme Vilà .
