Richard Heine

Richard Heine (born May 30, 1890 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ; † September 8, 1991 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German doctor and local politician.

Life

The son of a professor graduated from high school in Ellwangen in 1909. In the winter semester of 1909/1910 he started studying forest sciences at the University of Tübingen and renonciert with the country team Scotland . After two semesters, he switched to medicine . His studies in Tübingen were interrupted by a semester in Munich . In Heidelberg he was with a dissertation on the influence of vaccination on the typhus during the war to Dr. med. PhD.

During the entire First World War he took part in the 26th Württemberg Division as a troop doctor on various fronts. For his work he was awarded the Iron Cross I and II Class and the Frederick Order II. Class with Swords. After the war, he worked for three years as an assistant doctor at the Mannheim hospital before he settled in Feudenheim as a general practitioner in 1923 . During the entire Second World War , Heine was first employed as a medical officer and later as a senior staff doctor .

From 1951 to 1968 Richard Heine was a social democratic councilor on the Mannheim municipal council. After 54 years, the enthusiastic alpinist and hunter gave up his practice in 1976 and retired in the Black Forest.

His son was the botanist Dr. Dr. Hermann-Heino Heine (1922–1996).
