Richard Homann (garden architect)
Richard Homann (born April 17, 1900 in Bremen , † December 10, 1963 in Bremen) was a German garden architect .
biography
Homann was the son of Carl Homann, pastor from Borgfeld . He studied horticulture in Frankfurt (Oder) and in Berlin - Dahlem .
From 1927 he worked as a freelance garden architect in Bremen. Here, among other things, he planned the Hohehorst park . From 1936 to 1945 he was horticultural director of the horticultural authority in Bremen . During this time, from 1936, he planned the layout of the Botanical Garden in Bremen , which was relocated in 1937, in the vicinity of the Rhododendron Park Bremen in Horn-Lehe . The further planning for the Rhododendron Park, which had been laid out in 1933, was under his direction.
After 1945 Homann worked again as a freelance horticultural architect in Bremen and in 1948 he founded a horticultural company in St. Magnus in the neighborhood of Knoops Park , which is still located there as Homann Gardening and Landscaping .
