Richard Lintern

Richard Charles Lintern (born October 8, 1962 in Taunton , Somerset ) is an English theater and film actor.

Life

Lintern holds a degree in English literature from Van Mildert College, Durham University . After graduating in 1984, he received a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , which he successfully completed in 1987.

Lintern began his acting career on English theater stages. In 1994 he played Bassanio in the Merchant of Venice at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds . In 2001 the Royal Shakespeare Company produced Webster's play The Duchess of Malfi , in which Lintern played the role of Antonio Bologna.

In June 2005 Lintern played George Kittredge in the play The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry at London's Old Vic . In October of the same year Jonathan Kent staged Pirandello's play As You Desire Me (Come tu mi vuoi) at the Playhouse Theater in London's West End, adapted by Hugh Whitemore, with Kristin Scott Thomas (L'ignota), Bob Hoskins (Salter) and Lintern in the role of Bruno. In 2006 Lintern played Pedro de Candia in Peter Shaffer's The Royal Hunt of the Sun at the Royal National Theater . In 2010 he was the Duke of Florence in Thomas Middleton's tragic comedy Women Beware Women (1657) on the stage of the Olivier Theater in the Royal National Theater .

After a long break as a stage actor, Lintern was back on stage in 2014 at the world premiere of Rose Heincy's comedy Elephants at the Hampstead Theater.

Lintern made his film debut in a supporting role in Jim Henson's film The Heartless Giant in 1988 . Since then, he has taken on roles in over 100 English and US films and television series, including the 2003 Bible adaptation The Gospel of John , where he was seen as a leading Pharisee. In Germany, the actor is particularly popular because of his role as Dr. Thomas Chamberlain from the English television series Silent Witness (since 2014) known.

Lintern is married to Karen Lintern and the couple have three sons.

Richard Lintern does not have a permanent German dubbing voice. It is synchronized u. a. by Bernd Vollbrecht and Peter Flechtner , in "Silent Witness" by Frank Röth .
