Richard Lionel Clarke

Richard Clarke (born June 25, 1949 in Dublin ) is an Irish Anglican Archbishop and theologian of the Church of Ireland .

Life

Clarke attended Wesley College in Dublin and studied Anglican theology and history at Trinity College in Dublin and King's College in London. He was ordained an Anglican Deacon in 1975 and an Anglican Priest in 1976 . From 1993 to 1996 he was Dean of Cork. In 1996 he was ordained Bishop of Meath and Kildare. In 2012 he was named Archbishop of Armagh to succeed Alan Harper . Clarke is widowed and has two children.
