Richard Loncraine

Richard Loncraine (born October 20, 1946 in Cheltenham , Gloucestershire , England ) is a British film director and occasional screenwriter.

Live and act

Richard Loncraine made his directorial debut with the short film Radio Wonderful in 1974. He had previously worked for the BBC and later shot commercials. Also in 1974 he wrote his first screenplay, the film Professor Popper's Problem was made . Over the next few decades he worked for television as well as cinema. For his Shakespeare adaptation Richard III. from 1995 Loncraine was awarded the Silver Bear . In 2002 he received an Emmy for the miniseries Band of Brothers - We Were Like Brothers .
