At the Swiss ski jumping championships in Langenbruck in 1966 , he won the silver medal on the normal hill behind Heribert Schmid and in front of Max Walter .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 , Pfiffner reached 57th place from the normal hill with jumps on 65 and 62.5 meters. Shortly before, he landed on the large hill with jumps on 71 and 68.5 meters in 46th place.

With the Four Hills Tournament 1968/69 Pfiffner denied his most successful tour. With rank 26 on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck, he achieved the best individual result on the tour of his career. In the overall standings he landed on a good 27th place with 727.7 points and thus improved by one place compared to the result of the Four Hills Tournament in 1966/67 .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Štrbské Pleso , Pfiffner competed again in both competitions at the end of his career. From the normal hill he was 49th after jumps on 72.5 and 73.5 meters. Before that, he reached 46th place from the large hill with jumps on 81 and 93.5 meters.
