Richard Sass

Richard Sass (* 1774 in London , † September 7, 1849 in Paris ) was an English landscape painter and drawing teacher for the royal family.

Richard Sass hardly comes from a family of artists who originally came to England from Latvia . His younger half-brother Henry Sass was also a painter. Richard Sass studied at the Royal Academy , where he also exhibited from 1791 to 1813. He was chosen to be the drawing teacher for Princess Charlotte . He later became a landscape painter for the Prince Regent Georg .

In 1825 Richard Sass moved to Paris , where he spent the rest of his life. He died there in 1849.
