Richard Snell

Richard August Emil Snell (born March 16, 1867 in Hildesheim , † November 20, 1934 in Wiesbaden ) was a German psychiatrist and clinic director.

Life

Richard Snell was born the son of psychiatrist and clinic director Ludwig Snell ; the psychiatrist and clinic director Otto Snell was his older brother. Snell studied medicine and received his doctorate in 1891 from the University of Kiel . He then worked as a third doctor under Erich Gerstenberg at the Provincial Sanatorium in Hildesheim founded by his father. Afterwards he worked at the Provincial Correction and State Poor Institute in Wunstorf . After a short activity as a second doctor at the sanatorium and nursing home in Osnabrück , he returned in 1900 in the same position to the institution in Hildesheim. On April 1, 1906, he became director of the Eichberg sanatorium . From April 1, 1911 to March 30, 1932 he was director of the Herborn Sanatorium . In 1913 he was appointed to the medical council.
