Richard Tkáč

Richard Tkáč (born May 24, 1985 ) is a Slovak weightlifter .

Career

Tkáč first took part in European championships in 2001 and reached twelfth place in the class up to 62 kg. At the European Championships in 2006 he was ninth in the class up to 85 kg. In 2009 he finished 14th at the World Championships . At the 2010 World Championships he was twelfth in the class up to 77 kg. In 2011, Tkáč achieved his greatest success to date when he won the bronze medal at the European Championships . He also finished fourth at the Universiade . Shortly afterwards, however, he was tested positive for boldenone and androsterone during a training control and was banned for two years. After his suspension, he was seventh at both the European and World Championships in 2013 .
