Richard Ulrich (* 1942 ) is a German game designer .

Life

His career as a game author began in 1987 when his fishing game was published by Herder . Many other games followed, with a focus on children and environmental games.

In 1992 he started working with Wolfgang Kramer . Many successful games were created as part of this collaboration, including El Grande , El Caballero , The Merchants and The Princes of Florence . El Grande was awarded both the German Games Prize and Game of the Year in 1996. The successor El Caballero was added to the selection list for Game of the Year 1999.
