Richard Wahl

Richard Wahl ( December 4, 1906 , † November 1, 1982 ) was a German fencer who won an Olympic bronze medal with the saber team in 1936.

The fencer from Frankfurter TV from 1860 was part of the team that won the bronze medal in saber fencing with Julius Eisenecker , Hans Esser , August Heim , Heinrich Moos and Richard Wahl at the European championship in 1935 , which was subsequently recognized by the FIE as a world championship . At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , the German saber team with Erwin Casmir , Julius Eisenecker, Hans Esser, August Heim, Hans-Georg Jörger and Richard Wahl also won the bronze medal. In 1937 the first official world fencing championship took place; the German saber team with Erwin Casmir, Julius Eisenecker, Hans Esser, August Heim, Heinrich Moos and Richard Wahl again received the bronze medal.

Wahl won a bronze medal at the German championships in saber fencing in 1932 and 1934 . In 1932 he was second in the saber competition of the German Gymnastics Festival in Stuttgart, in 1937, also with the saber, third in an international tournament in Innsbruck.
