Richard Weber (born March 27, 1944 in Zweibrücken ) is a German entrepreneur.

biography

Richard Weber is the son of Paul Weber . He received his doctorate in economics and has been the managing partner of the Homburg- based Karlsberg brewery since 1983 . From 1996 to 2017 he was President of the Saarland Chamber of Commerce and Industry and from 2002 to 2008 President of the German Brewers Association . On October 17th, 2013 he was elected President of Eurochambres , the European umbrella organization of chambers of industry and commerce. Weber took up his position at the beginning of 2014.

In September 2005, Prime Minister Peter Müller presented him with the Federal Cross of Merit First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services to the Saarland economy . A year earlier, he was honored as a Knight of the French Legion of Honor (Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur) for his outstanding service to Franco-German cooperation in business and culture .
