Richard Wenz

Richard Wenz ( pseudonyms : RW Enzio , Richard Wenz-Enzio , born December 12, 1876 in St. Wendel , † April 19, 1953 in Cologne ) was a German educator , journalist and writer .

Life

Richard Wenz attended high schools in Koblenz and Euskirchen ; then he completed the teachers' seminar in Mettmann . From 1901 he worked as a teacher in Cologne , most recently as rector of an elementary school . In addition, he made articles for various daily newspapers and was at times editor of the literature section of the "Rheinische Rundschau" . Wenz's literary work consists of novels , short stories , poems and plays ; he also edited literary anthologies .

In 1900 he married Julie Dresbach in Eckenhagen . Wenz died of cancer in 1953 at the age of 76 in his apartment in Cologne-Rath .

effect

In literary history, Wenz was hardly considered by research, only through the publication of the multi-volume series Meister-Erzählungen newer storytellers , in which he brought together authors such as Paul Ernst , Clara Viebig , Wilhelm Schäfer or Stefan Zweig , he was known to a wider audience, with Julius Stinde In 1909 he was able to publish the small volume "The Bottle Brothers".

His novel Sturm und Stille (Wehnert, Leipzig 1942) was placed on the list of literature to be segregated in the Soviet occupation zone after the end of the Second World War .
