Richard Wisser

Richard Wisser (born January 5, 1927 in Worms ; † March 12, 2019 ibid) was a German philosopher .

Life

Wisser studied philosophy , psychology and comparative cultural studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and at a university in Córdoba (Argentina) . In 1954, he was with a thesis on Leibniz and Vico at Fritz-Joachim von Rintelen at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz doctorate . He was then a research assistant there. In 1965/66 he completed his habilitation in philosophy. In 1971 he was appointed professor. In his research and teaching, he mainly dealt with the philosophies of Martin Heidegger and Karl Jaspers .

From 1952 to 1958, Wisser was a board member of the General Society for Philosophy in Germany .

In 1992, Wisser was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. In 2007 he was awarded the Ring of Honor of the City of Worms , among other things for his contribution to the Worms Memorandum . In 2017 he received a Croatian State Order.
