Rick Moody

Rick Moody (born Hiram Frederik Moody III on October 18, 1961 in New York City ) is an American writer of novels and short stories. His most famous work, The Ice Storm (Engl. The Ice Storm , 1994), a chronicle of the dissolution of two suburban families in Connecticut during the Thanksgiving -Wochenendes in 1973, was founded in 1997 by director Ang Lee with Kevin Kline , Joan Allen and Sigourney Weaver in the Main roles filmed .

Life

Moody grew up in various Connecticut suburbs, including Darien and New Canaan. He attended St. Paul's School in New Hampshire , studied at Brown University on Rhode Island , and earned a master's degree in art from Columbia University in New York. Moody has taught at Purchase College in New York and Bennington College . He lives in Brooklyn and Fishers Island .
