biography

He spent his youth in Apopka , Florida , where he attended the local Lake Brantley High School. One of his first musical stations was a metal band from Orlando , Florida, called "Thatcher".

In 1983 Chuck Schuldiner founded the band “Mantas”, which Rick Rozz and Kam Lee joined shortly afterwards. In 1984 they changed their name to "Death" after a few gigs and demos. The demo “Reign Of Terror” (1985) was recorded under this name, with Rick Rozz playing guitar again.

Some time later Rozz left the band after an argument and joined the band Massacre, which was founded in Tampa , Florida in 1984 and which also included Kam Lee as a singer. With them Rozz recorded 2 demos between 1985 and 1996 and the album “From Beyond” from 1990, the EP “Inhuman Condition” from 1992, as well as the last studio album, released in 1996, “Promise”. In the years 1987 to 1989 there was an interlude between Rozz and "Death". During this time, Death's second studio album "Leprosy", which was released in 1988, was recorded.

Rozz is currently playing guitar in a new death metal band named M. Inc , which he and Mike Mazzonetto founded in 2009 .
