Rick Simpson
Rick Simpson (born before 1975) is an American art director and production designer who won an Oscar for best production design and was nominated for that Oscar again.
Life
Simpson began his career as an art director and production designer in the Hollywood film industry in 1975 for the television series Barbary Coast and was involved in the production of more than fifty films by 2006.
At the 1985 Academy Awards , he and Albert Brenner were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Production Design for 2010: The Year We Contact (1984) by Peter Hyams with Roy Scheider , John Lithgow and Helen Mirren .
In 1991 he and Richard Sylbert won the Oscar for best production design in the film of the same name , Dick Tracy (1990) by and with Warren Beatty as well as Al Pacino and Charlie Korsmo .
