Rickey Parkey
Rickey Parkey (* 7. November 1956 in Morristown , Tennessee , USA ) is an American former professional boxer and world champion of the IBF in the cruiserweight division .
Professional career
Parkey won his first two fights, which took place in 1981. The following year he suffered his first defeat against James Smith . In 1984 he lost to Bernard Benton for the vacant USBA title over 12 rounds on points and defeated Renaldo Snipes by a split decision over 10 rounds on points.
He earned the IBF World Champion Belt on January 28th when he inflicted his first defeat on the undefeated Lee Roy Murphy . He defended this title in March 1987 with a T.-K-.o.-win in the 12th round in a 15-round fight against Chisanda Mutti. Only a good six weeks later it came to the title union with the WBA world champion Evander Holyfield . In this battle Parkey had no chance and was knocked out in the third round
He lost his next three heavyweight fights against Johnny Du Plooy , Gary Mason and Alfonso Ratliff by knockout. In December 1990 he captured the insignificant world title of the WBF . Parkey has lost his last 12 fights.
