Rieke Katz

Rieke Katz (born August 31, 1986 in Nagold ) is a German jazz singer .

Live and act

At the age of 16, Katz took singing lessons from Reiner Hiby at the local music school in Nagold. There she also sang as a soloist in the jazz combo MS Groove and in the big band of the music school. In 2013 she completed her studies at the University of Music in Nuremberg with a diploma in pop and jazz singing as a major; there she had lessons with Fola Dada and Reinette van Zijtveld-Lustig ; In 2015 she completed the additional subject jazz piano at the Nuremberg University of Music.

Meanwhile living in Karlsruhe, Katz is employed at the Waghäusel-Hambrücken Music School as a lecturer for voice training and singing and as a choir director. Katz is a sought-after soloist at home and abroad. She usually performs with her own band, but can also be seen in a small cast with her Christmas duo and the dinner jazz duo Voice Lounge .

Their music builds a bridge between pop and jazz. Your album That's Me! (2018) recorded Katz in Stockholm with and with Andy Pfeiler, the guitarist and musical director of the band Nils Landgren Funk Unit . On the album are u. a. Saxophonist & flutist Jonas Wall, as well as the trumpeters Joo Kraus and Thomas Siffling can be heard.
