The Angels Cup is the open championship that was held by the Riesa Cheerleading Club five times between 2003 and 2007. A sixth Angels Cup was planned for 2008 with a completely new concept as a pure technology championship, but had to be canceled due to difficulties in finding a date and the weak participant reports (concept of the championship).

The starter categories offered covered the entire spectrum of cheerleading and each time attracted several hundred athletes to participate.

The Angels Cup 2007 is a specialty. It was the first time that the concept of "open valuation" was tested for championships of the CvD.

history

The forerunner of Riesaer Cheerleader Association was established in 1999 with 10 female members as AG founded "Cheerleading" at the former Max Planck Gymnasium Riesa. Initially, the Blue Angels team limited itself to show dance performances until it finally took part in its first real cheerleading competition as a cheer dance team in 2001.

By 2002 the team transformed into a real cheerleading team, which led to the first championship participation in the cheer categories and finally to the first Angels Cup the following year.

In 2003, the increasing popularity of the Riesa Cheerleading Club (at that time still Blue Angels Riesa ) attracted the attention of the Hamburg Blue Devils . They had the name of their Cheersquad Blue Angels protected as a brand name. This led to legal difficulties for the club. Ultimately, an amicable solution was found; the team had to rename itself. The youth team was now called Spicy Angels , the senior team Manic Dream . At the end of 2003 the Minimaniacs junior team was finally founded.
