The Rifugio Fratelli De Gasperi is a refuge in the municipality of Prato Carnico in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia , on the slopes of the vertical rocky coast of the Friulian Dolomites , on the panoramic terrace of Clap Grande .
history
The renovation work in 1995 made the refuge more comfortable and continued the development of the first shelter built in 1925, expanded in 1930 and burned by the Cossack militia in 1945, which the Carnia in the wake of the troops of III. Had occupied empire.
It is dedicated to the brothers Giuseppe, Luigi Callisto and Giovanni Battista, Friulian mountaineers of the SAF, of which the CAI Tolmezzo was a section at the time. Giuseppe De Gasperi died on the wall of Monte Civetta in July 1907 , the brothers were killed at the front during the First World War .
Features and information
It is a five-story masonry and wood building belonging to the Tolmezzo section of the Club Alpino Italiano. It is open from June 15 to October and has a total of 28 rooms, including two for catering and eighteen for overnight stays. Baggage cable car from Albergo Pradibosco, nature trails and a small botanical garden.
Access
- From Val Pesarina , Bar Centro Fondo (car park 1236 m) to path No. 201, altitude difference 550 m, in 1:30 hours.
- From the SS di Forcella Lavardêt, Val Pesarina , to Pian di Casa (detour 1423 m) along the forest road to Malga Mimojas (1623 m) and from here via paths 201 and 203 to the hut in 1:45 hours.
- From Sappada on path no.316, from Granvilla through the Sierapass in 3:30 hours.

Ferrata dei 50 (6-7 hours EEA); Normal route in Creton de Culzêi (2460 m); Normal route in Clap Grant (2487 m); Normal route in Torre Sappada (2442 m) and all folding walls with countless climbing routes of different lengths and levels of difficulty. Teaching and climbing galleries near the hut.

In Sappada, take the path named after Regolo Corbellini over the Sierapass (path no.316, 3 hours), or to the Elbelpass (no. 201-315-314, 4.5 hours), or to the Forca dell'Alpino (EE no 232-317, 4.5 hours); Punto Tappa dell'Alta via No. 6 delle Dolomiti (dei Silenzi); Punto Tappa from Carnia Trekking and from Via delle Malghe.
