Riggerding is a district of the market Schöllnach in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Riggerding is located in the Bavarian Forest about four kilometers northeast of Schöllnach and about three kilometers west of Zenting .

history

The Hofmark Riggerding is first mentioned in 1512. Soon afterwards it came into the possession of the Ortenburgers . This gave rise to the relationship with the Saldenburg , because its owners were also lords of the court. Since 1670 the castle and Hofmark belonged to the Counts of Preysing. The rule of the Hofmarks, which was subordinate to the Winsing office of the Hengersberg district court , comprised four properties in Riggerding itself in 1752, plus six single-shift estates in the surrounding villages.

When Bavaria was reorganized at the beginning of the 19th century, Riggerding came to the new Deggendorf district court . In 1808/1811 it became part of the Bradlberg tax district and in 1821 of the Bradlberg community. This was compiled from parts of the chairmanship of Waldteil and Hof as well as from the Hofmark Riggerding and the village of Thann der Hofmark Flintsbach. After the Hengersberg District Court was re-established in 1838, the Bradlberg community came to this. Riggerding itself was a seven-house village in 1855.

A church building association was founded in 1899, and the church was built between 1901 and 1904. In 1905 the branch office was established , and in 1921 the parish Riggerding was established.

On September 3, 1937, the community of Bradlberg submitted an application to rename the community in Riggerding. In addition to historical reasons, the reason given was the new school and the parish. The approval by the Reichsstatthalter took place on September 24, 1938 . At the same time the spelling of the municipality part Rieggerding was changed to Riggerding.

With effect from October 1, 1951, the village of Geßling was incorporated into the municipality of Winsing. In 1964 the municipality of Riggerding consisted of eleven districts. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Riggerding was incorporated into the market Schöllnach as part of the regional reform .
