Rigoberto Mendoza

Rigoberto Mendoza ( Rigoberto Mendoza Pérez; born January 4, 1946 in San Luis , Santiago de Cuba province ) is a former Cuban long-distance and obstacle runner .

Over 3000 m obstacle he won bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1966 and 1970, and silver at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships in 1969, 1971 and 1973.

In 1975 he won silver in the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships in the 10,000 m and in the half marathon and won the marathon of the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 2:25:03 h.

At the marathon of the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he came in 33rd place in 2:22:44 h. He set his best time over this distance of 2:21:01 h in 1975.
