Attractions

Former Jagstbrücke

An old stone Jagstbrücke with the patron saint Nepomuk is still well preserved next to the new Jagstbrücke, which was built in the course of the Jagst straightening; the former bridge is now next to the river.

Already in the 15th century there was worship and pilgrimages to the miraculous image at the oak chapel. The spring water with the little fountain in front of the chapel was known for healing and relieving eye problems. In 1498 construction began on the St. Maria in der Eich chapel. The chapel was consecrated in 1514. Court painters like Wiedemann 1761/1767 and church painter Larcher 1860 painted the side altars; Church painter Gebhard Fugel designed the ceiling paintings in 1916 to commemorate those who fell in the First World War. From 1982 to 1984 the chapel was extensively renovated.
