Ring of Bündischer Jugend

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ring Bündischer Jugend (RBJ) was a youth association in Hamburg between 1958 and 1976 with up to 1000 members.

history

The Ring Bündischer Jugend was created in May 1958 on the Rehberg near Marxen in the Lüneburg Heath through the merger of several Hamburg groups of the youth movement and in the 1960s became a member of the Ring Junge Bünde, which was founded in 1963 after the Meißner camp .

In 1970 the working group of free youth associations emerged from the ring.

In 1972, after leaving the Ring of Young Leagues, the RBJ and the Association of German Scouts founded the Association of Democratic Youth (BDJ), which was accepted into the German Youth Association in 1973 together with the Ring of German Scout Associations .

The former magazine 'RBJ-Kommunikation' was renamed with the issue for September and October 1974 to 'Kämpfende Jugend' and published together.

Both members of the BDJ fell out again after a few years, mainly because the Ring of Bündischer Jugend showed increasing left-wing extremist tendencies and came into contact with the Communist League .

In 1974 the Hamburg Senate revoked the RBJ's eligibility for funding on the grounds that it violated the free democratic basic order .

In 1976, the Ring of Bündischer Jugend finally left the BDJ, the BDP continued to use the name Bund Deutscher Pfadfinder in the Federation of Democratic Youth. In the same year the RBJ became a founding member of the State Youth Association Hamburg and then dissolved.
