Rino Vernizzi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rino Vernizzi (born November 15, 1946 in Mezzani ) is an Italian bassoonist who is characterized by extremely high virtuosity and is best known for the interpretation of modern music and jazz .

After completing his bassoon studies with Enzo Muccetti at the Parma Conservatory in 1967, Vernizzi devoted himself to improving his pianistic skills with Paolo Cavazzini and experimented in various musical directions ( avant-garde , jazz , electronic music ).

He won several competitions, was employed in most of Italy's leading orchestras and now plays in the symphony orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome . As a soloist he has worked with conductors such as Giuseppe Sinopoli , Carlo Maria Giulini , Kurt Masur and Sir Neville Marriner and has toured all over the world.

His goal has always been to cultivate the whole spectrum of music, and not exclusively the European-classical track, from which also his great commitment (both playing and composing) in the jazz area follows. The CDs with his jazz quartet Goldberg Jazz , Baby Boom and Etnoart Jazz Bassoon enjoy cult status in insider circles, especially among bassoonists of course.
