Rio Caldo is a municipality in northern Portugal . The municipality is named after the small river of the same name, which flows into the Rio Cávado here .
Rio Caldo belongs to the Terras de Bouro district in the Braga district , has an area of 14 km² and a population of 892 (as of June 30, 2011).
Well known is the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta with the Basilica of St. Benedict of the Open Door .
