etymology
There are different interpretations to explain the name Risch . First of all, the Middle High German rake (= scrape together, pile up) could be the basis, which in field names usually indicates a slope or a terrace field. It could also be traced back to the Middle High German adjective risch (= dry, brittle), from which one could deduce the nature of the soil or the water content of the soil.
