Rischeln , Swiss German Rischele , is a district in the municipality of Thalheim in the canton of Aargau. The hamlets of Rischele and Riede belong to Rischeln.
geography
The main settlement of Rischeln is located in a basin of the Rischelebach, around 2 km from the center of Thalheim. The closest bus stop is on Staffelegg , 1 km away, where the Postbus line 135 goes to Aarau and Frick train stations . From Rischeln, Aarau can be reached by car in seven minutes.
history
The area of the hamlet was already settled in the Alemannic era, as proven by grave finds near Staffelegg. It contained two necklaces from the Alemannic era, these are now in the National Museum in Zurich. The hamlet was first mentioned in the 18th century. Three of the nine buildings are inhabited, one will be renovated soon, four will be used as a warehouse and one as a stable. The houses that still exist today were partly built from stones from the Schenkenberg ruins .
The historic traffic route used to lead through the hamlet to Staffelegg. At the beginning of the 19th century, today's Staffeleggstrasse was relocated on the other side of the valley.
The Rischelebach flows down from the hamlet and flows into the Talbach in the hamlet of Riedmatt. Rischeln is supplied with electricity by the Aarau industrial companies.
