Risto Savin
Risto Savin (pseudonym for Friderik Širca , born July 11, 1859 in Žalec , † December 11, 1948 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav composer .
Savin studied in Vienna with Robert Fuchs and in Prague with František Hessler and Karel Knittl . He was the most important representative of a neo-romantic style in Slovenian music in the first half of the 20th century, composed choirs and songs in addition to orchestral and chamber music, and became known to a wide audience , especially with his operas .
