Rita Kersting

Rita Kersting (* 1969 in Goch ) is a German art historian and curator .

Live and act

Rita Kersting studied art history at the University of Cologne and trained as a curator at the De Appel Center for Contemporary Art in Amsterdam. From 2000 she worked as a curator at the art museums in Krefeld . From 2001 to 2006 she was the director of the art association for the Rhineland and Westphalia in Düsseldorf. In 2012 she was appointed director of contemporary art at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, where she worked until 2016.

Rita Kersting was a member of the supervisory board of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam from 2014 to 2018 . She is a Fellow of the International Curatorial Institute at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Since September 2016 she has been the deputy director of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.

She is married to Guido de Werd . You have two children.
