Rita Preuss
Rita Preuss (born October 31, 1924 in Berlin ; † June 11, 2016 there ) was a Berlin painter.
life and work
Preuss completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman at Siemens . She received her artistic training from 1946 to 1952 at the University of Fine Arts (today Berlin University of the Arts ) in Berlin. She met teachers such as Maximilian Debus , Ernst Fritsch and Willy Robert Huth before she became a master class student with Max Pechstein .
Rita Preuss painted still lifes , landscapes, Berlin city scenes, portraits, including many members of the Association of Berlin Artists , as well as numerous self-portraits .
For her life's work, she received the Hannah Höch Prize from the State of Berlin in 2000.
