Hannah Höch Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hannah Höch Prize is an art prize that has been awarded annually since 1996 and biennially from 2014 by the State of Berlin, which is awarded for outstanding artistic life's work. The award is named in honor of the internationally known German artist Hannah Höch .

Award

The award is to be made to artists with a life and work focus in Berlin who have reached the age of 60. The prize is awarded by the Senate Department for Science, Research and Culture. The selection is made by the fine arts funding committee in the Berlin Senate. A continuous, high-quality artistic achievement that has not yet been publicly recognized is to be recognized. Foreign artists can also be selected, provided that the funding committee can identify a connection to Berlin.

The awards generally take place in the Berlinische Galerie , the state museum for modern art, photography and architecture.

The award ceremony takes place in November of the respective year and is endowed with 25,000 euros. It will be awarded from 2014 together with the Hannah Höch Prize , which has been awarded since 2010 . Linked to this is the organization of an artistic project or an exhibition with a catalog in the Berlinische Galerie and Stadtmuseum Berlin foundations or the Kupferstichkabinett of the Staatliche Museen Berlin.
