Ritterberg (Kowanz)
Ritterberg was a residential area in the Prussian province of Pomerania .
The living space emerged from a jug that had been on the post road from Stettin to Gdansk since the 18th century and was called the "knight's jug ". It was located between the town of Koerlin in the east and the village of Kowanz in the west and belonged to the Koerlin office .
The office of Körlin was sold in private ownership in 1810. After 1840, the then owner of the office sold the knight's mug to his brother. This closed the jug economy and operated agriculture and gravel mining. Later the owners changed several times.
From 1861 the Ritterkrug residential area was included in the Kowanz community. In Heinrich Berghaus ' Landbuch (1867), a distinction was made between the “Ritterkrug” belonging to Kowanz and the family houses “Ritterberg” belonging to Körlin-Amtsgut. The former knight's mug belonging to Kowanz was later referred to as the "knight's mountain". When in 1928 the manor district of Körlin was incorporated into the town of Körlin, the town of Körlin claimed the Ritterberg residential area, which was part of the municipality of Kowanz, as part of its urban area. A legal battle ensued that was not ended until 1945.
Until 1945 Ritterberg was run as a residential area for the municipality of Kowanz and belonged with this to the Kolberg-Körlin district in the Prussian province of Pomerania.
In 1945 the place of residence came to Poland , like all of Western Pomerania . Today the place is in the area of the Polish Gmina Karlino (town and country municipality of Körlin) .
