River Ailort is a 3 mile short river in the Scottish Highlands that connects Loch Eilt with the sea.

About 500 meters after the river's source is the small but deep Lochan Dubh lake . It was once a very popular place for fishing, especially sea trout and salmon were caught here. Since the late 1980s, the number of fish caught has fallen sharply, as parastian Caligidae ( English sea lice ) entered the waters through salmon farms in Lochailort .

The river is occasionally used by canoeists and kayakers .
