The River Pinn is a watercourse in Greater London . It arises on Harrow Weald Common and flows in a south-westerly direction through Pinner and Ruislip . To the west of Ruislip it turns in a southerly direction and flows through Ickenham and Uxbridge . It flows west of Yiewsley into the Fray's River , a tributary of the River Colne .
The River Pinn was rich in fish and the Lord of the Manor of Ruislip had sole right of access to the river in 1804 to be able to fish there.
During World War II , the River Pinn was dammed at the lower end of Pinner High Street to serve as a supply of fire water.
