The River Styx is a creek in Edmonson County , Kentucky . It is an outflow of the cave system in Mammoth Cave National Park and named after the mythological river Styx of the Greek underworld.
The stream emerges a few hundred meters west of the visitor center. Its course above ground is extremely short. After a good 200 meters the River Styx flows into the Green River .
