Maurizio Fiume

Maurizio Fiume (born September 18, 1961 in Naples ) is an Italian short film director and screenwriter .

Life

Fiume attended courses for screenwriters with Ugo Pirro and Lucio Battistrada ; in 1987 he won the “Cinema Democratico” award for the best original script. The film In nome di Giancarlo about the journalist from Il Mattino , Giancarlo Siani , was made under his direction four years later. After further short films and a script for Massimo Martella , after working for the RAI in the news department and organizing for Enzo Decaro's Ladro di futuro , his feature film debut Isotta finally appeared in 1996 . The film was received favorably at the Venice Festival .

In the new millennium, Fiume made short films, all of which he made with prisoners at the Pescara penal institution , and the feature film E io ti seguo in 2003, an extended version of Siani's biography that was shown for the first time at the World Film Festival .
