The River Teise is a watercourse in Kent , England . It arises in the west of Tunbridge Wells and initially flows south. To the west of Bayham Abbey , it turns east. It flows south of Lamberhurst and turns south-west of Goudhurst to the north. Southwest of Marden the flow divides into two arms. ( 51 ° 9 '28 "  N , 0 ° 27' 55"  O ) The eastern arm continues to flow than the Lesser Teise in a northerly direction and opens southeast of Yalding in the River Beult . ( 51 ° 12 ′ 27 ″  N , 0 ° 27 ′ 16 ″  E ) The main west arm flows in a northwest direction to its confluence with the River Medway west of Yalding not far upstream from Twyford Bridge .
