Riverbend
Riverbend (in English "river bend") is the pseudonym of the author of the blog Baghdad Burning , on which she has been reporting on Baghdad and Iraq after the second Iraq war since August 17, 2003 .
To person
Riverbend's identity is carefully kept secret, but the blog entries suggest that she is an unmarried Iraqi woman in her twenties and from a mixed Shiite - Sunni family. She lives with her parents and brother in a middle-class residential area in northern Baghdad. Before the outbreak of war, she worked as a programmer for an Iraqi IT company. Her excellent English and blog entries suggest that she will be abroad for a long time. Your entries contain political statements as well as insights into the life of occupied Iraq.
On April 26, 2007, Riverbend announced that she and her family would be leaving Iraq because of the unsafe situation in Baghdad and the ongoing ethnic violence. On September 6, 2007, she reported on her blog that she and her family had safely reached Syria.
On April 9, 2013 Riverbend will be in touch with a review of the past ten years. She has since left Syria and is in another Arab country.
